This is only the second time Heckler & Koch has built a commemorative pistol
(jdl: Actually, it's the third - the
USP
Compact .45ACP 50th HK Anniversary (US Model),
and the
USP P10 Jubilee 9mm 50th Anniversary (Germany Model only)), so with HK's
reputation for quality, you can be the P7-25th Anniversary Edition is a work of
art, built to the same high standards for reliability and toughness as the
regular P7M8. Even though P7 production began 25 years ago, the pistol is
still very modern and HK is rightfully proud of it. Each commemorative has
its own number, for example "One of Five Hundred", printed in German on the
slide. High quality walnut stocks replace the standard black plastic and
the finish is even better than the excellent standard blue, making this pistol a
stunner (jdl: Let's just hope HK is smart enough to leave off the tacky
"Warning" off the slide!). The signature of Helmut Welde, lead
designer of the P7, also appears on the slide. Each pistol comes with a
beautiful presentation box, two magazines, cleaning tools, manual certificate of
ownership and a commemorative coin. These presentation pistols should be
available sometime during the third or fourth quarter of 2004 and although the
final suggested retail price has not been determined, it will probably be
between $1800 to $2000. They can be ordered from your retailer, but with a
limited supply of only five hundred, they will not last long.
News 9.10.04
Each pistol has the lead designers autograph etched in sliver on the upper right hand side of the slide followed by silver scripted "1 von 500", "Presentation High Grade" wooden palm swelled checkered grips with "HK" logo, original slide roll marks (NO WARNING LABEL ON SLIDE) and "AE" 2004 Date mark. Packed with black presentation wooden case that is relief cut for the pistol, extra magazine, cleaning tools and the P7 "Challenge Coin". An additional presentation "HK" logo cardboard box protects the wooden case. The P7M8’s original plain shipping cardboard box with serial number is also included.
